It is now officially no longer Thanksgiving Day for me anymore, seeing that it is after midnight in Berlin. But I know there are families back home who are just sitting down to eat there dinner, or who have already stuffed their faces and are laying back to dive into their turkey comas.
I did have the privilege of having a Thanksgiving dinner at my bosses house. I had all the goods; turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, sweet potatoes, and even pumpkin pie. But somehow I do not feel satisfied. Not even a little bit.
I talked to all my family today over the webcam and it just made me miss being with them for this holiday. I miss my mothers mashed potatoes. They are the best. I miss the buffet style meal. I miss the evening poker games. I even miss the football. It just feels so weird not being home.
Even though I do miss all of these things, I am still very thankful. I will be home in about 3 weeks now, and that puts a big smile on my face. I am so excited to see everyone.
Well I still have to work tomorrow, so I am off to bed. Good Night, and Happy Thanksgiving!!!
